Steve, Heike and Claus in San Francisco ,
or A Night of Margaritas,
September 5, 2004.

My friends Steve and Heike moved up north to Dunsmuir, California permanently about ten years ago. Sometimes it takes something special for them to come back to San Francisco. On September 3rd they came back to spend the weekend and to pick up our friend Claus Holtfoth from Hanover, Germany. In the last couple of year Claus has become something of a celebrity in Germany. Claus and a friend had a number one song on the German pop charts. Claus recently appeared on an oldies show celebrating his song being in the all time Top Ten Songs of Germany.

Sunday, September 5th was extremely hot for San Francisco, around 90 degrees. In the day Steve, Heike, Claus and I went to Ocean Beach. In the night we met up with our friend Diane Pierce and proceeded to celebrate Claus's birthday, which was one week earlier, and my birthday, which was coming up the following Friday. We started with margaritas at La Rondalla on Valencia Street, went to dinner on Mission Street and back to La Rondalla for more margaritas.

Tinney1 (46K) From left to right, it's Steve, Heike, Diane and Claus. Just exactly what they are doing with their legs is anybody's guess.

Tinney2 (48K) Same line up as the above photo.

Tinney3 (50K) This time Heike said, "let me take a picture of you guys." So here I am wearing my St. Thomas shirt standing with Steve and Claus in front of Diane's apartment on 20th Street.

Tinney4 (39K) This time Steve and Heike in La Rondalla Restaurant. This year Steve and Heike are celebrating 15 years of marriage.

Tinney5 (46K) After a few pitchers of margaritas we're all laughing.

Tinney6 (46K) Steve and Heike have a laugh together.

Tinney7 (49K) Boy, those margaritas are good.

Tinney8 (47K) Looks like we're out of margaritas again!

Tinney9 (39K)
A beautiful night for a walk. See you later guys!
